THE FASHION EVENT
not to be missed

A BIT OF HISTORY...

Did you know that the history of Fashion Week didn’t begin in Paris? Before the French capital became the beating heart of the fashion industry, it all started in New York. In 1943, in the midst of World War II, the daring Eleanor Lambert launched the first "Press Week" to spotlight American designers at a time when travel to Paris was nearly impossible. But Paris, never one to be outdone, responded brilliantly: in 1973, the Fédération Française de la Couture was founded, giving birth to what would become the world’s most iconic fashion event—the Paris Fashion Week.

The inaugural event, nicknamed "The Battle of Versailles," was a charity runway show aimed at funding the restoration of the Château de Versailles. It featured a showdown between five French designers—Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Pierre Cardin, Hubert de Givenchy, and Emanuel Ungaro—and five American designers—Anne Klein, Halston, Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blass, and Stephen Burrows. This legendary show marked a turning point, solidifying Paris as the undisputed fashion capital.

Since then, Paris Fashion Week has become an unmissable event, a time when designers from around the world converge to unveil collections that redefine trends, captivate creators, and leave the entire world in anticipation.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM PARIS FASHION WEEK 2025 ?

Attending a Paris Fashion Week show is a unique experience, where art and fashion come together to create unforgettable moments. This year, prestigious venues such as the Grand Palais and the Palais de Tokyo will host the 72 runway shows and 37 presentations scheduled on the calendar.

Among the highlights, we eagerly anticipate the Dior show on March 4, Alaïa's entry into the official calendar on the same day, as well as the debut of Tom Ford under Haider Ackermann on March 5 and Sarah Burton for Givenchy on March 7.

As for trends, the Autumn/Winter 2025-2026 season promises to be full of contrasts: XXL volumes and minimalist cuts, traditional craftsmanship and technological innovations. Eco-friendly materials will be spotlighted, while designers play with bold layering, asymmetrical cuts, and reimagined color palettes.
